Kevin Mazur

Kevin Mazur has spent the last 25 years working as a music photographer and documenting rock and roll history through his pictures.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he received his first camera as a high school graduation gift. He honed his natural talent while taking photos at rock concerts, merging his two great loves – photography and music.

Kevin spent the early part of the 1980s shooting some of that era’s most legendary acts, among them Van Halen, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen and David Bowie. He went on to work for an international photo agency and later as a staff photographer for Rolling Stone.

He has shot some of the music world's greatest stars, including Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, The Rolling Stones, Ozzy Osbourne and Nirvana. A versatile practitioner, he shoots at live performances, backstage at concerts and in private recording sessions and portrait sittings.

Kevin has become the preferred concert photographer for some of rock and roll's elite megastars, including Sting, U2, Elton John, Bon Jovi, Guns & Roses, George Michael, Eric Clapton, Barbra Streisand and The Rolling Stones.

Today, he is one of the most widely respected and published rock and roll photographers in the world. His images appear consistently in leading international newspapers and magazines and have been included in numerous books, exhibitions, advertising campaigns and album covers.

In 2001, Kevin co-founded WireImage, a leading global digital photographic press agency and wire service that provides professionally licensed photography and assignment services to the world's media on a real-time basis.

While he will always remain true to his roots and shoot live musical performances, Kevin now spends most of his time concentrating on his portrait career, which extends well beyond the music world. His body of work comprises some of the most famous faces in the world of entertainment.
