Michael Jurick

New York-based music and event photographer Michael Jurick began developing his artistic passion as a college student at Tulane in the late 80’s. Taking mental pictures at swampy juke joints and legendary music clubs of New Orleans, he soaked up and processed every last drop of that visual gumbo. Studying photography, art history and pop culture, Michael planted the seeds of his photography calling. After leaving the Big Easy for the Big Apple, Michael worked for the seminal late night live music TV program, "ABC In Concert." The all-access provided by the ABC TV Network got Michael into music clubs and theaters, and his shutter began to click. His contacts grew to include VIPs who continue to grant him access to the hottest shows of the moment.

During the last decade, Michael ventured across the country on festival tours that help deliver the visual punch that a densely packed artist lineup offers photographers. Hitting Bonnaroo, Vegoose, Langerado, Virgin Music Festival and, of course, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage festival (Michael has been a regular for the last 25 years), Michael has captured images that are as exciting as the festivals.

Michael continues to balance his award-winning portrait and event photography with his Rolling Stone-published rock and roll work as the senior house photographer for the Bowery Presents and on assignment from Live Nation. Some of Michael's notable photographs include Radiohead, Eddie Vedder, My Morning Jacket, David Gilmour, Amy Winhouse, The Who, The Neville Brothers, Soulive. Snoop Dogg, Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley and Phish.
