Rolling Stone Cover Series
“Gonna see my picture on the cover / Gonna buy five copies for my mother!” sang Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show on their 1972 Top Ten hit, “The Cover Of Rolling Stone.” Since the first issue in 1967, the coveted cover promised recognition and respect for both subject and photographer. As Rolling Stone evolved from scrappy counter-culture newspaper to multi-faceted entertainment magazine, the cover gained even more prestige, conveying one had “arrived” at the pinnacle of cultural relevance. Many great portraits resulted. Our exclusive Cover Series pairs a limited edition print from the original cover shoot with a fine reprint of the corresponding Rolling Stone cover – a unique collector’s item.
Printed to gallery standards by leading industry professionals using archival materials. Photographs are printed on a range of fine art papers including fiber based, resin coated, matte and pearl finish. Pigment prints are produced with archival inks. All prints are produced from the original negative or a high resolution scan from that negative.
Authentication takes several forms: hand-signed by the photographer, estate-stamped or embossed with an official seal. Every print we sell has been authenticated by the copyright holder - in most cases, directly by the individual photographer who captured the image. The copyright holder can also be a legal representative of the photographer, such as his or her or estate, a music label or a photo agency. Each print is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
