In 1987 I was working as a freelance photographer for Guitar World magazine in New York, I heard that B.B. King was coming to the Beacon Theatre on Broadway and decided to use my influence at GW to try and swing a photo session with him backstage. I called his office and got through directly to his manager Sid Seidenberg, after a while on the phone he agreed to set it up... in those days you could do that kind of thing! Anyway it all went very well and I ended up working with Sid on several other B.B. King photo projects. Needless to say, being able to meet and photograph the living legend B.B. King was like a dream come true for me, a blues kid from Scotland!
