Arthur Gorson

Arthur Gorson’s intimate photographs of Bob Marley are widely known, and have been the subject of multiple gallery shows in both the U.K. and U.S. They have adorned the packages of many of Marley’s albums, including “Talking Blues”, and the deluxe edition of “Catch a Fire.” His work has been published in magazines such as Rolling Stone and The Beat, and in books such as “Bob Marley – Music Ikon” (Taschen 2009); “Bob Marley – Songs of Freedom” by Adrian Boot and Chris Salewicz (Viking Books); and “Reggae International” by Stephen Davis and Peter Simon (RB Books).

Arthur’s early early photo assignments (with writer Michael Thomas) gave him in-depth entry to places as divergent as Jamaica, Peru, and the hills of North Carolina. His continuing taste for travel, and privileged access to musical artists and personalities, allow him to capture unique signature images.

As a film producer, Gorson's feature credits include: "Cronos", directed by Guillermo Del Toro; "Better Watch Out", directed by Monte Hellman; "Cabeza de Vaca", directed by Nicolas Echevarria: "Night Watch", directed by Timur Bekmambetov; and Consulting Producer credit on Perry Henzell's recently-completed film "No Place Like Home” and Monte Hellman’s “Road to Nowhere,” which received a Golden Lion award for body of work at the 2010 Venice Film Festival. His documentary "Roots of Reggae," an international festival favorite, had its U.S. premiere in 2009. He has developed feature films with Taylor Hackford, Tony Scott and Andre Kochalovsky.

Working with director Dean Karr, Arthur has produced over 60 high-end music videos and DVDs for artists such as The Dave Matthews Band, Daughtry, Willie Nelson, Marilyn Manson, Stevie Nicks, Cypress Hill, Ozzy Osbourne, Wu Tang Clan, Tommy Lee, Dr. Dre, Nickel Creek, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Everlast, Damian Marley, Shooter Jennings, Velvet Revolver, and X Japan’s 2010 hit “Jade”. His work has received numerous awards worldwide, and he is recipient of over a dozen RIAA gold and platinum records.

Arthur is currently executive producer at Wild Indigo, LLC.
