Debra L. Rothenberg

Debra L. Rothenberg is an award-winning New York-based photographer. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photographic illustration/photojournalism from Rochester Institute of Technology. Her photographic range consists of music/concerts, celebrities, news, sports, CD and book covers, newspapers and magazines, portraiture, children, events, public relations and weddings and Bar Mitzvahs.

She grew up in Northern New Jersey. At age 17, she snuck her camera into a Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes concert and one of her images appeared on his live album, “Reach Up And Touch The Sky.” After graduating from college, she worked at several daily newspapers. She moved to the Jersey Shore where she lived for 17 years, spending most nights photographing every band that performed at the infamous Stone Pony in Asbury Park. On many nights, she photographed Bruce Springsteen on the Pony stage. Her images appeared on Bruce Springsteen official tour t-shirts for his 1999-2000 World Tour as well as on one of the covers of his “Tracks” CD box set.

Debra’s photography has been exhibited worldwide in galleries and has been published in newspapers, magazines, books, CD covers, and many web sites. She has been the concert photographer for the New York Daily News since 1999. Her awards include National First Place in the sports category from the National Press Photographers Association.

Debra L. Rothenberg's first book, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN IN FOCUS PHOTOGRAPHS 1980-2012 hit books stores in October 1, 2013. The Wall Street Journal said it was one of "the best photo books for fall" and The NY Daily News called it "amazing" and it was #2 on the amazon best sellers list for several months.
