Jack Lue

Jack Lue

Active on the LA rock photography scene from 1980 to 1987, Jack Lue became tight with Guns N’ Roses through his friendship with lead guitarist Slash (AKA Saul Hudson).

His first photo session with GNR took place a few months earlier outside Canter’s Deli, the hangout managed by Mark Canter who introduced Jack to Slash. The band had just returned from what it later called “the hell tour.“ "Duff (McKagan) arranged a few shows up and down the West Coast where they had car issues, no food, were borrowing instruments -- any problem you could imagine,” Jack recalls, but the troubles “helped solidify the band. They knew they could get a bite to eat at Canter's so we met there to take photos.” Images from that shoot have figured prominently in albums and books including the EP Live Like A Suicide, and "Reckless Road," Marc Canter's bio book documenting the making of Appetite for Destruction.

Jack’s music photography has been featured on VH1, in band posters and magazines published around from the world including Rolling Stone and Playboy.
