In 1992, Roger Erickson began his career in London pursuing his passion as a fine art photographer. His first editorial assignment was photographing legendary recording artist Neil Young for Select Magazine. He has since become one of the world’s premier music and celebrity photographers. Known for his warm and engaging style, Roger’s work has appeared on numerous magazine covers, and in album packaging, advertising and promotional campaigns.
His photographs have published on the covers of such publications as Vogue (Latin America/Mexico), Entertainment Weekly, Out Magazine, Ebony, The Source and The Advocate, and have been featured in GQ, Rolling Stone, ESPN and Oyster. His images have also appeared on wardrobe by Marc Jacobs, and in campaigns for advertising agencies and clients including Mercedes Benz, Lexus, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Fox Broadcasting, Twentieth Century Television, Interscope Records, Island/Def Jam Music and Atlantic Records.
Over the years, he has photographed many musicians, celebrities and notable personalities including Mark Wahlberg, Eminem, Usher, Ozzy Osbourne, Juliette Lewis, Zang Ziyi, Evan Rachel Wood, Billy Bob Thornton, Samuel Jackson, Edward Albee, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Snoop Dog, Lil' Kim, Joan Jett, and LL Cool J.
Roger’s work has also been featured in numerous books including "Indochine" (Rizzoli Publishing), "Hip Hop Immortals" (Sock Bandit Publishing), and "Hip Hop: A Cultural Odyssey" (Aria Multimedia Entertainment). His work and career will also be profiled in the upcoming book "Go West,” due out later this year.
