    Shortly after signing with Columbia Records, Miles Davis went into Columbia Studio D on October 26, 1955 for the first of three sessions that would comprise 'Round About Midnight', his debut album for the label. Miles worked out much of the album in a pair of sessions on June 5 and September 10, 1956, during which Don Hunstein created this seminal portrait of Miles in full creative mode.
